THINGS TO DO DURING THE SUMMER
It’s never too early to start planning for your summer vacation, especially if you have kids on tow. They’re going to feel very antsy if you make them stay inside the house too long. And it isn’t always ok to let them spend too much time with their friends, you always have to have family bonding time whenever possible. It’s during those times that you renew ties with them, try to get to know their new hobbies and interests, catch up with their daily lives—things that you are probably missing out on because you’re busy with work and other responsibilities.
A lot of folks usually think of an activity that would involve roughing it with their families. While the idea of lounging by the poolside or the beach may be tempting, it can also put a pretty deep hole in your pocket, what with the cost of the airfare, the hotel stay, the food, water and beach activites, and everything else that comes with the package, it all becomes a little bit too expensive. There are much cheaper alternatives, such as a dude ranch, sending your kids to camp (although that wouldn’t really be spending more time with your kids), and the most popular option of all—going out camping with the whole fambam.
For those who are on a budget, this is the way to spend lots of quality time with the kids. This is also a great excuse to put away all your gadgets like phones, laptops and tablets and really have some fun with them. The experience is the most important thing. They’ll have a taste of how it feels to sleep in sleeping bags under the trees, the stars and the moonlight. But what would make it even more fun (and have more peace of mind in the process) is if you invested in a tent. The tents these days have more room inside, are far more weatherproof than older tents, and are very easy to set up and take down when you need to.
The tents of today can also be big enough for you to put up divisions so you can create rooms inside. These divisions already come with the whole package, and there isn’t anything that you need to do yourself in order to make it more useful and comfortable. The material that’s being used is also much more versatile, making sure that you’re protected from the elements, and would be more resistant to rain and heavy downpour.
So if you’re still thinking what type of activity would be worth spending and wasting time with and for your kids, I think you all know what the answer to that would be. Go camping. With a tent. With marshmallows on sticks being help up over crackling fire. With the moon and the stars engulfing your senses, and trees keeping you safe. It would be the best time ever.
